GRAVEL
In the area that connects the city of Turin to the mountains of the Turin 2006 Olympics, there is a network of country dirt roads, in plains or hilly areas. It is possible to ride on rings that connect the Royal Residences of the Savoy or itineraries that touch some of them, among the green hills and vineyards for several kilometers, with moderate climbs.
Example of itinerary: Morainic Hill, Rivoli Castle, Sant'Antonio di Ranverso and Avigliana.
Distance: 43.47km - Climb: 695m
Magnificent ride through different landscapes, terrains and points of historical, architectural and cultural interest. Asphalted country roads, with little traffic and dirt roads lead us to the discovery of the Morainic Hill of Rivoli, the remains of an ancient alpine glacier. If desired, we can also stop at a winery for some tastings, before reaching the Castello di Rivoli, the royal residence of the Savoy dinasty, UNESCO heritage and home to an important gallery of contemporary art, just outside Turin. Returning west, we will meet the ancient Abbey of Sant'Antonio di Ranverso and the medieval center of Avigliana, with its lakes, before giving us a break in Giaveno, capital of mushrooms, and of the Valsangone. We will be immersed in the green of the rural landscape, while touching historical places designed by man's hand and we will also have the chance to taste some local gourmet products.
